Shiga Kogen is the biggest ski and snowboard resort area in
Japan consisting of 21 individual, but connected, ski resorts
including Okushiga Kogen as well as other well known resorts
such as the adjoining Yakebitaiyama, Ichinose, Kumanoyu and
Yokoteyama. One lift ticket covers all of the ski lifts,
gondolas and ropeways in Shiga Kogen, making for a huge ski area
that would take literally days to cover. Our location also
means that we often have excellent snow conditions and are
usually able to have a long season from December until May.
Okushiga Kogen Ski Resort
The base of Okushiga
Kogen Ski Resort is located just outside the Okushiga Kogen
Hotel entrance and is the most northern of the Shiga Kogen
resorts. Okushiga Kogen is a skiers-only resort but
is connected to Yakebitaiyama and the other ski and snowboard
resorts. (The other skiers-only resorts in Shiga Kogen are
Kumanoyu and Yokoteyama).
